5TH ANNUAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

The 5th Annual Rustic Canyon Club Championship was held on May 17th and 18th. The Club Championship was determined in a playoff between Joel Nishimine and Richard Pech. The playoff went on for three holes with Joel Nishimine winning the championship. Congratulations to both Joel and Richard and to all those who participated.

GOLF COURSE IMPROVEMENTS

RUSTIC CANYON HAS BEEN NAMED THE NUMBER 1 RANKED GOLF COURSE IN VENTURA COUNTY AND THE NUMBER 2 RANKED "BEST VALUE" COURSE IN ALL OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BY GREENSKEEPER.ORG.

2007 IMPROVEMENTS

We are always striving to improve your golfing experience. Whether it is the practice facility, fairways and greens or our food grill, there are always areas that can be improved.

In 2007 we undertook several ambitious projects to improve our facility. We completely revamped our practice range with an all grass landing area, six new target greens that can be converted into 6 par three holes for our Junior Program and an expanded grass hitting area. We added a new 6000 square foot practice green with chipping area and practice bunker.

For better customer satisfaction, a new multi-processor computer system with upgraded software was installed to improve and expedite your reservations and check-in process.

Our fairways were completely reseeded with a high quality Bermuda Hybrid that will conserve water while maintaining the playability you have always enjoyed.

A fleet of new golf carts was also put into service during 2007.

IMPROVEMENTS FOR 2008

In 2008 we will continue our improvements with the renovation of the flood channel that will prevent flooding during severe rain storms. This renovation will include modifications to the old washes that will enhance the play of the affected holes. For example, the wash across the 5th fairway will be filled in and redesigned with a series of bunkers, resulting in a more esthetically pleasing yet still very challenging hole.

All bunkers will be reconditioned with new softer sand and manicured side walls. Cart paths will be renovated with some current dirt areas being paved. The golf course will be lengthened from the Black tees from the current 6988 yards to 7100 yards. We will re-establish the environmentally sensative areas in and around the course. This will regenerate the growth of native vegitation that was severly depleted over the past few years by fire and subsequent flood. The course should regain the appearance originally intended by architect Gil Hanse.

These improvements require a very large capital expense, which can only be undertaken with the small Friday and Weekend increase we have announced while maintaining our current rates on Mondays through Thursdays.

It is our goal at Rustic Canyon to provide the finest golf course at the most affordable rates possible. We thank you for your support and understanding.

Our second shipment of 100% cotton golf shirts from In Fiamme of Italy has arrived. The range includes traditional styling with unique color combinations that the Italians are famous for. New to the range are three colors of Argyle cotton knit patterned shirts. These are the argyle prints that have been famous as traditional golf attire

While the new goods are arriving, much of the '07 stock has been marked down to sell with prices slashed as much as 50%. When visiting the Pro-Shop, take a look at what’s on the sale table and stock up for future Father's Day or Birhday gifts . All marked down items are first quality merchandise, no seconds or irregulars.

RUSTIC CANYON GRILL

On your next visit to Rustic Canyon Golf Course, why not come a bit early and enjoy an outstanding breakfast in our Grill. The Grill offers traditional breakfasts as well as a great Breakfast Burrito that has gained popularity to make it the number one asked for item on the menu. The coffee is always hot and ice tea is brewed in house daily.

If its lunch you want after your round, the Grill has a complete lunch menu with all the usual items plus daily specials from BBQ Pork Sandwiches to Home Made Soups. The Home Made Chili is really exceptional and those who have tried it are constant repeat customers.

One very unique offering we have here at the Rustic Canyon Grill is freshly baked cookies. Baked three times a week, the cookies are large and delicious and are available in Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter and Oatmeal Raisen.

Don't forget to check out the Loyalty Rewards Program in the golf shop. All you do is purchase a "Loyalty Card" in the Pro Shop for a nominal fee and present it each time you play golf, purchase range balls or merchandise in the golf shop.
