Rustic Canyon is the home of the Golf Academy of Ventura County featuring Dan Martin’s Advanced Player Program (APP) and the Basic Golf Program featuring the US Kids Golf Learning System.
Dan Martin’s APP is the only one of its kind in the area. It is specifically designed for junior golfers, ages 10-16 interested in pursuing or already involved in competitive golf. It is perfect for juniors playing or wanting to play local junior golf tours or those wanting to play on a middle school or high school golf team.Participants not only develop improved golf fundamentals & technique, but are coached on mental, emotional, and key playing skills that will help them become complete golfers!The APP program features both 1.5 hour Clinics, On-Course Player Development, Playing on a Golf Team, and Full Day Camps.
The Basic Program is perfect for new and beginning junior golfers ages 6 to 14. Classes are twice per week in one hour sessions.The Basic Program utilizes the US Kids Golf Learning System (Beginning 2012) - Level 1 (Blue), Level 2 (Gold) & Level 3 (Red).Participants learn golf fundamentals of all shots and are rewarded with achievement pins for mastering specific golf skills, knowledge, and playing skills.
The Girls-Only Program -In our fun and innovative girls-only program, our mission is to help girls age 10 to 16 that want to play golf develop their skills and confidence so they will be able to play on their High School Golf Team or pursue competitive golf. Our program focuses on making golf girl-friendly and enjoyable. Classes and events include golf and life skill development, rules and etiquette, and lots of on-course instruction and playing opportunities. All classes held at Rustic Canyon GC in Moorpark on Saturdays or Wednesdays.
About Dan:
Dan Martin is a Class-A PGA Professional, the owner and program director of The Golf Academy of Ventura County and the Director of Instruction at Rustic Canyon GC.He has been coaching junior golfers for over 13 years.Dan is known as a “total-game” coach, specializing in helping his students develop focus, concentration, confidence, as well as solid golf technique.Dan has a unique ability to develop fun & engaging activities that make learning fun and provide deep and meaningful experiences.Many of Dan’s students now play collegiate golf at the University and Jr. College level.In 2008, Dan was elected the SCPGA Northern Chapter Junior Golf Leader and in 2011, Dan was selected as a Top 50 Kids Teacher by US Kids Golf.
